Brows -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Instant Lift Brow Pencil

on 10/14/2018 3:53:00 PM

I never thought my favorite brow pencil would be a $2 one from Elf. I purchased Taupe, and I don’t know why Elf was able to get this shade right, yet other companies continuously make taupe shades that turn my eyebrows orange-red. The consistency is perfect. It’s not so dry that it ends up tugging on my eyebrow hairs and pulling them out, but it’s not so creamy that it smudges everywhere. I am legitimately terrible at filling in my eyebrows (and doing my makeup in general) but this pencil makes it pretty foolproof. The point is on the finer side, and the color practically blends itself onto my little bald spots. Love it!

Lip Treatments -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Studio Lip Exfoliator

on 10/12/2018 12:43:00 AM

I've tried three different varieties of this exfoliator: original, mint, and rose. Mint was first, and I was digging it for a while until I dropped it one day and the bullet broke clean out of the tube. Needless to say, knowing this was a fragile product put me off purchasing it for a while, even if it was dirt cheap.

Months later, I picked up the rose. The moment I opened it, it smelled off, like the oils in the formula had expired. I pressed on, thinking I was imagining things, and eventually got used to the scent (still not 100% sure if I got a bad batch). I liked the gentler exfoliation but would still use my finger to get my lips nice and supple for bedtime, with an oil-heavy balm over it.

Finally, I got to the original. That one isn't bad by any means, but the crystals are bigger and harsher and I used the tube up much faster. It does smell of brown sugar but I don't recommend licking your lips with this stuff on, the taste is very waxy and unpleasant. Regardless, it's good to know there's a decent, convenient lip scrub in just about every department store and drugstore I walk into, and I will probably repurchase the scented varieties of this in the future.

Blush -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Powder Blush Palette - Light

on 10/11/2018 11:00:00 AM

This blush palette is an excellent blush for the price and even better then many luxury brands. Since I only buy cruelty free products the ELF Palette Powder Blush in Light was a great find for the, "oh my goodness I need a blush tonight", emergency. I have a fair neutral cool skin tone, grey green eyes and cool medium dark brown hair. My daily blush is Kryalon Apricot eye-shadow (it is a pressed pigment therefore the same as a blush) which is similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Orange Soda eye-shadow except the Apricot shadow is lighter and cooler. My foundation references are Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer in Alabaster and It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in Fair Light. I use concealer usually as a full coverage foundation. I was amazed at the quality of these ELF blushes. They are highly pigmented which makes up for the blushes not being finely milled. For me personally they are a bit dark to wear on a daily basis. But great as a pop of pink for a special occasion. The two peach tones, the one on the right upper side and the other one on the lower right side were too dark and warm for me. The peach tone on the lower right side has some slight amount of glitter in it. If you are warmer and darker then I am and like vibrant colors, then this palette is for you. The colors are very pretty and blend out nicely to look just like a hint of color. I really am impressed.

Blush -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Studio Baked Blush in Passion Pink

I love this blush! And I'm not someone who likes most blushes, since I already have rosiness in my cheeks. Most blushes are too bright/dark for my liking, or just don't look right on me. This goes on a sheer, natural, neutral pink, with a lovely soft glow. Adds a touch of color without being obvious that I'm wearing blush. Since I like to contour/bronze everyday, I don't want to look too overdone by adding blush, but this is one I can wear daily, and just feel prettier! Best part, only cost me $3! Would repurchase!
