Eye Shadow -E.L.F. -Nude Rose Gold

on 1/16/2018 12:09:00 PM

Sigh - this was one of the more disappointing palettes I've purchased. I had high hopes b/c it's e.l.f and this particular palette had fans raving about it. I picked it up at Target and took it home to swatch - the swatches themselves were disappointing but I figured I'd give the palette a try on my eyes to see if anything improved. It got worse. There is virtually no pigmentation in the shadows and they are chalky. While I didn't experience much kick up with my brush, I found it took a really heavy hand to get even a modicum of color on my lids. I tried every single shade and they all performed the same. In fact, it became a muddy mess where pretty much every shade looked the same. There wasn't a scent and I did like the large mirror and the packaging. That said, I did end up donating the palette.

Highlighters -E.L.F. -Studio Illuminating Palette

Thanks to MUB, I have been shopping my stash and started using this little amazing palette for all my h/l needs. I forgot how amazing this product is, well, all of e.l.f in general is the bomb and this palette is no different. I especially LOVE the price point considering other brands offer the same product for at least 5x more and those don't always perform as well as this palette. I can't recall where or how I heard about this, I just remember seeing it in Target and knowing I had to have it as it was only $6 for 4 different shades. Hell, I paid $8 for ONE CP highlighter so this is definitely a great deal for a great product. I apply with my RT setting brush and I will say that the product does dust up when picked up with the brush, but it's not that big of a deal and I can go back with the same brush to pick up the excess product and apply it. There is no scent, the product is creamy and blends easily, and there is a shade for just about every skin tone and every use. I've used these for shadow as well. I love the large mirror and the classic matte black packaging as well. I am definitely a renewed fan of e.l.f and when it's time to buy again, I will definitely hit up this brand because they are continuously stepping up their game!

Concealers -E.L.F. -Studio Corrective Concealer

I purchased the lighter set (pink, green, blue, yellow) from Target. Great price super cheap and I happen to really like the product. For me the pigment was good. The brush on the other hand sucks so I used my beauty blender. I also made sure I did all the necessary skin care before hand. I saw all the bad reviews and maybe they changed the formula since then but I am definitely liking this product and will purchase again.

Moisturizers -E.L.F. -Daily Hydration Moisturizer

This product is a no for me! As soon as I put this on, my face breaks out in red splotches. I'm not sure what causes this but it might be the fragrance I have normal to dry skin with no acne. It's a shame because it's full but I won't use it... I guess I'll just toss it.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. -Lip Exfoliator Mint Maniac

Love everything about this product from packaging, scent, and price. Not too harsh for my lips but gets the job done. I would recommend this to all my friends and I will be buying this again. I wear tons of matte lipstick and had a problem with flakes of skin. I use this in conjunction with Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm.
