Liquid -Dior -Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation

Picked up Diorskin Forever Undercover somewhat impulsively after trying/talking myself out of Chanel Ultrawear—lesson: if you try something and like it, don’t confuse yourself with reviews—and blindly ordering/returning Armani Power Fabric. In the end, I got a comfortable foundation with good coverage, workable texture, a natural finish that works with my semi-dry winter skin, and a better value than predicted. It’s also quite resilient (though I couldn’t know that at the time and I don’t have “the gift”). Coverage: High-medium. It’s not the fullest coverage foundation I’ve seen, like Jouer or YouTube-style Shape Tape-ing your entire face (original Shape Tape, not Shape Tape made for Shape Tape-ing your entire face). One layer covers redness and discoloration, though distinct marks—active spots, dark circles, dark freckles/sun spots—may require layering or color correction (my dark circles yield to no foundation). Texture & Finish: Moderately lightweight, quick-drying, layerable, demi-matte, long-wearing. It’s not as light as a serum or some other recent long-wear foundations, but it’s lighter than a cream-form or oil-based foundation. I find its weight comparable to a BB, though its texture feels a touch more plastic and less skincare-like. It does set quicker than many foundations, but this seems to be the exchange for longer wear, just as a matte finish often accompanies fuller coverage; Forever Undercover strikes the right balance with both, being neither so quick-drying as to be unworkable, nor so matte as to appear lifeless. I have the best luck working in small sections and using my fingers instead of a brush. For skin that leans dry/dehydrated, but doesn’t suffer from severe textural issues, this is the sort of foundation that’s a godsend because it sets without powdering, which can make a dewier foundation look tired and dry. Color selection is somewhat limited (especially for deeper shades) and I do feel the product may run slightly dark. For reference, I am 015 Tender Beige in this product (“Very Light” Neutral Undertone”) and 2.5 Warm Sand (Light to Medium Beige Neutral undertones) in Bobbi Brown Skin SPF 15, 5.0 Medium Neutral in Luminous Silk (but not Power Blahhhfrick!), 30 Beige in Chanel Ultrawear, between 26 Bisque Medium (light beige) and 34 Beige Medium (medium beige) in Marc Jacobs.

Treatments (Face) -Dior -Prestige La Lotion Essence de Rose

on 3/12/2018 8:25:00 AM

This is a white opaque toner packaged in a transparent bottle with a pump.Fragrance is of a refreshing rose but not too overpowering.

It does have a nice consistency that feels more hydrating on the skin than a normal toner would. I also find it that it can be applied easily with fingertips too.

It contains mainly a mixture of different humectants and water-soluble lipids along with two polysaccharide that is an excellent hydrator (and product thickenner) (Alcaligens Polysaccharides and Tremella). It contains also Rosa Centofolia Flower Water (distilled water from the petals of roses) and a miniscule amount of Rose Extract (not the one that Dior supposedly developed!).

It is again a very overpriced product but it might be the most outstanding of the Prestige-line.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Propanediol, Glycerin. Butylene Glycol, Rosa Centofolia Flower Water, Dipropylene Glycol, PEG-8, Pentylene Glycol, Alcohol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Maltitol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, PEG-150, Polyglycerin-3, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Citrate, Alcaligens Polysaccharides, Centella Asiatica Extract, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Citric Acid, Styrene/ Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Tocopheryl Phosphate, Tremella Fuciformis Polysachharide, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Metabisulfite, Rose Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, BHT, Tocopherol

Treatments (Face) -Dior -Prestige Rose Oil Serum - La Micro-Huile de Rose

on 3/12/2018 8:15:00 AM

This is what Dior says about this pre-serum: "The First Micro-Nutritional Supplement from Dior that infuses the skin with exceptional energy. A nutri-cosmetic revolution: inspired by dietary supplements, La Micro-Huile de Rose is the new ally of nutrient-deficient skin. This revolutionary treatment provides more than 20 micro-nutrients essential to the strength and beauty of skin, including minerals, trace elements, omega-3, and vitamin E."

After reading the ingredients list thoroughly, I can see very few actives and even fewer that could match at least some of the description above.
If Dior is referring to the Rose Extract and dressing this up with all these attributes, then I would like to ask them why not to include more of it in the product?!

The product is very eye-catching in a transparent pump bottle where the visible “pearls” of this pink coloured gel show through. Fragrance is of a refreshing rose but not too overpowering.
It is marketed as a pre-serum and an oil. In reality it is a thickened watery gel that contains some oils (natural and from silicone) along with a highly conditioning silicone polymer (Amodimethicone) that is substantial to hair and skin. It is most often used in hair-care intended for damaged hair.

The gel contains meager amount of stabilized vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside), two hydrating raw materials (sodium hyaluronate and Tamarind seed gum), minuscule amount of Rose Extract (not the one that Dior supposedly developed!), Mallow extract and Adenosine.

I find the product way too heavy and “oil-like”. Its content of natural oils and Amodimethicone should raise a warning for people that are acne-prone.

In my opinion it is a very mediocre product that is way too overpriced for what you get.
The best thing about it is the very pretty colour.

Liquid -Dior -Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10

on 3/10/2018 10:16:00 AM

Terrible foundation. Terrible. It’s supposed to be glowy and light yet it’s the thickest formula I’ve ever seen. It’s more cream than liquid. Impossible to blend on its own, I always mix it with another liquid foundation. Also, it doesn’t cover any imperfections or pores rather makes them glaringly obvious. I can’t believe I paid such a high price for this fail of a foundation. Especially dry skin gals out there, stay away.

Mascara -Dior -Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer

on 3/9/2018 8:55:00 PM

This.. this!! What a fabulous primer. Really love it. It doesnt let my mascara go anywhere all day, dior or otherwise. Apparently you can also sleep in it but I haven’t tried that.. but its such a good product for day to day use. Yes, its added another step to my morning routine, but a step I will take if it stops my crazy mascara disappearing off my lashes before half the day is gone!
Also as the name suggests, it genuinely does maximise lashes, i mean i don’t have exceptionally thick long ones to begin with but after using this, my blonde eyelashes are filled out to their full potential!
I would say dont let it dry before you add mascara to it. Literally as you finish applying the primer add the mascara. It goes on so much more smoothly! Do one eye at a time or whatever..
I got this as a random sample from a dior counter and so so glad i did, the sample itself lasted literally ages and then i bought the full size which is just as lovely (even my mum bought one too!)
I just wish it was black instead of white, but never mind! This is a game changer!
