Liquid -Clinique -Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer

First off, im very surprised this doesnt have an overall better rating. But for those disappointed perhaps this may help. (Please note prior to this i used glo minerals, tom ford, sisley, dior...i spare no expense when it comes to my makeup base, and in fact usually never even think to try clinique as generally i think of it as "ehh")

THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLY SKINLIKE AND NATURAL . Its almost on par with tom ford's traceless perfecting but with more coverage. However there are a few pointers i would suggest to get that flawless look.

1. Moisturize!!! I use an antioxidant face oil. But just make sure skin is well prepped.

2. #55 sephora brush to apply. Even though you may be looking for more coverage as i am to cover hyperpigmenration, a fluffy brush meant for buffing is best even if the brush is made for sheer coverage. In fact the thicker the base youre working with the more sheer you want the brush coverage to be, and vice versa, in order to get a flawless rather than cakey result. This covers a lot so you wont likely need too many layers, but layer if you need more.

3. Dot the areas if your face that need most coverage, then take buffing brush (i loooove sephora's cult favorite #55!!!) And stipple on the the areas you dotted the product and blend by buffing or continuing to stipple outward from the center of the product.

Voila!! Flawless. Also if you have hyperpigmentation try a shade that is slightly more W (golden) or rosier if gold is too yellow rather than your true color to counter balance the grey look of the pigmentation showing through. Covers better and also doesnt require as much product. Likewise if you suffer from redness do that opposite and look for something with more neutral or olive undertones to counter balance thw pink/red hues.

Cleansers -Clinique -Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

It isn't very often I wear heavy makeup but when I do, this is one of the best things in my collection to remove it with at the end of the night. I find it doesn't leave a film on my skin or break me out in any way. I've always been a sucker for Clinique's packaging and this one sits pretty on my bathroom shelf. It is quite a basic formulation, nothing too complex, plus it benefits from the addition of Tocopherol (Vit E) as a bonus. Will re-purchase.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer in Golden Glow

I thought this would be an interesting product to try since I have been liking some of the other turnaround products. It is a lightweight lotion that I find, when worn over a generous layer of dramatically different moisturizing lotion, helps to seal in moisture and add a little luminosity. It claims to not leave any shine, but I think it leaves a lot of shine. There are several beneficial ingredients in it that I easily recognize, such as green tea extract, a peptide, sodium hyaluronate and vitamins A & C. Although I personally wouldn’t use this as my only moisturizer, my skin is dry and I get the best results layering several light layers of moisturizers and this is enough as a second layer to keep my skin feeling hydrated.
I decided to get it in both the rosy glow and golden glow to see if there was any difference between the two shades. Well, I honestly can’t tell any difference between the two unless I look at myself close up in a well lit magnifying mirror. It has tiny sparkly bits in it like a highlighter or luminizing product: the golden glow looks gold and the rosy glow looks pink. I guess the golden would help to mildly counteract redness and the rosy help give a little color to dull or pale skin. I do have a little bit of a tan right now so perhaps this winter I might see more of a difference when it has faded. I regret not saving the boxes to see if the ingredient listing matches what is on the Clinique website and if there is any variance between the two. Although I don’t think this is a must have product, I feel this is a good product to use in place of a primer as it has dimethicone listed second in the ingredients but isn’t as heavy as typical primers.
Disclaimer: I am posting this same review under both shades as I currently see no distinguishing difference between the two. I have emailed Clinique to ask for advice and will update these reviews with any helpful info they give.

Masks -Clinique - Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial

foto

My skin is really starting to do some unpleasant things as I enter menopause, looking dull, uneven and feeling rough. I am hesitant to try more intensive targeted skin treatments (like retinol) so I’m starting with aha/bha products. I still need to do my homework and research the ingredients in this product, but do see salicylic acid which my skin does very well with. If I use just simple moisturizers aimed at my dry skin type then I start to get skin that feels sort of like an orange peel.
This mask helps to remove dead skin cell buildup and it has a little bit of scrub in it as well. It leaves my skin glowing, fresh and smooth. I use it only once or twice a week so I don’t overdo things and have added other turnaround products to my routine as well, as recommended by Clinique to “maintain results”. My skin has exhibited signs of sensitivity in the past and I am happy to say this hasn’t caused me any problems.
I’ll probably repurchase this, I could really use some help and plan to continue to include some form of a mild, exfoliating mask in my skin care routine. It’s expensive and I have no idea how long one tube will last, but I do spread it on thin and really like the results I’m getting. My skin has been looking great and feels way softer than it has in years!
