Mascara -Clinique -Lash Power Mascara

on 7/19/2018 5:44:00 PM

I really like this mascara. It’s definitely a day time mascara that lengthens more than it volumizes but that’s fine for me because this mascara really does not smudge. It doesn’t flake either if I recurl my lashes after they’ve dried. And even after a whole 12 hour day, I don’t have smudges or flakes. I’m still getting used to taking it off because it comes off best with warm water, but then my other makeup gets all messy if I wash with water first. On the other hand, if I use makeup remover or Micellar water to take off my eye makeup first, then the mascara gets super difficult and messy. Hence the one star off.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique -Pep-Start Eye Cream

I just didn't find anything amazing about this eye cream. Average at best. Application of the is nice, smooth application without any tugging. I have very sensitive eyes, and deal with eczema. This product is gentle, did not aggravate my eczema. Works well under makeup. Still doesn't replace my HG eyecream: Lancome Eye genifique. I did finish up the tube, but did not repurchase.

Mascara -Clinique -Lash Power Flutter-to-Full

on 7/18/2018 7:24:00 PM

Loved it, SO SAD IS IS DISCONTINUED! Was more buildable than the regular lash power and didn't flake as much as Estee Lauder or Blinc on me. Now that it's gone I'll have to go back to my Loreal Double Extend I guess. Boo.

Liquid -Clinique -BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops

on 7/18/2018 6:41:00 PM

This is really great to have on the shelf for the right audience but you need to learn how to use it.

**** This product is for ****

- Those who can't find the right shade tinted moisturizers or a tinted moisturizer that doesn't irritate your skin (like me!)
- Those who are picky about how a product feels on the skin and can't find the right one (like me!)
- Those who don't want to get different products for different seasons, different coverage goals. Generally or when on vacation. (like me!)

**** How to work with this ****

- Find the right moisturizer or primer! It might take some trial and error. Some moisturizers' ingredients might lead to oxidization. Some might be too thick or too liquidy. If you get a bad result the first few tries, don't give up or think it's because the pigment drops are no good.

- It's not just how much BIY drops you use, it's also how much moisturizer you use. I watched some YouTube review videos for this and in my opinion some used more moisturizer than needed. (Remember the review videos are usually the bloggers' first experience with the product. It's of course easier to make mistakes with 'customization' products at our first try.)

- MIX WELL. When we use liquid foundations, we are always told to "shake well." The same applies to this. I suggest mixing with the moisturizer on something that won't soak in the product. Not your skin basically. Anything else, including a plate would work.

- Don't stay limited to Clinique's suggestion like "1 drop for this, 2 drops for this." You might do fine with less than half a drop, you might get better result with more than what Clinique suggests. It depends on what kind of coverage you like, your skin tone, and your moisturizer.

**** Potential bad side ****

The undertone thing. If you're going for sheer-medium coverage, because you use a small amount for that, there's no problem about the undertones. But if you're going for full coverage and you have pink undertones, you will probably not get the rosey finish you would prefer. I've used a few different Clinique foundations and found the lightest shades for cool undertones still have a more neutral-undertone finish. The same happens with BIY.

**** Bonus good side ****

Clinique products are generally suitable for sensitive skin. I had no irritation, no pimple.. no problem with this.

Highlighters -Clinique -Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight - Hefty Highlight

on 7/18/2018 3:02:00 PM

This is my second stick specifically because it does give a nice sheen without exposing or emphasizing fine lines. I use on top of cheekbones and under brow. I prefer this stick to a powder highlighter as the matter not so good for, shall we say, maturing skin.
