Fragrances -Chanel -Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense

I had high hopes for this flanker to Coco Mademoiselle. It was described as a deeper and richer version of CM so I bought a bottle. When first sprayed I had to look at the bottle because it was Coco Mademoiselle with no hint that it would evolve into something that would become a Chanel classic. I knew the top notes (mostly citrus - grapefruit) would dissipate in a few minutes and the mid or heart notes would appear. The heart notes are supposedly floral - jasmine, orange blossom and tuberose - were very soft and too far in the background to have any real presence. I was hoping the base notes of patchouli, tonka bean, musk and sandalwood would bring out the heart notes making Coco Mademoiselle Intense more than a slightly different version of Coco Mademoiselle. After 30 minutes nothing had changed and the scent was starting to fade. I sprayed Coco Mademoiselle on one wrist and the "Intense" version on the other wrist. The only exception was there was less citrus in the "Intense". I know perfumers add aromatic compounds to fragrance to extend the scent life. Eau De Parfum is supposed to contain between 10 - 20% of the aromatic compound and I would guess the "Intense" is about 10% considering how quickly it fades on well moisturized skin. (Eau De Toilette is between 5 - 20%). I do know there are several factors that can alter the scent of a perfume. Things such as foods that are eaten, medications, bath soap and the chemistry of your skin. Hopefully Chanel will come out with a CM Intense lotion or body cream to help the longevity of the perfume. I don't believe in over-powering perfume but I do want it to be noticeable to more than just myself and only if I sniff my wrist. The bottle I bought came from Chanel as I buy only authentic fragrances. I want to point out this is on MY SKIN and the scent could be different on your skin. Have a SCENTsational day!

I fell in love with the scent from the first whiff. It was light even with the floral notes. I’ve always been attracted to the vanilla scent and this parfum is a nice blend and not overpowering unlike Tom Ford’s orchid series. However, the scent doesn’t last long and fades off maybe after 4 hours. I work in an office so it isn’t because I perspire. I would love for it to be more lasting. It is also pricey for even the 30ml bottle. But Chanel’s perfumes have always been priced on the high side. The packaging is not too environmentally friendly with all the cardboard to hold the bottle in place. I’m sure there’s a smarter design solution to this. I’ll definitely buy it again if it were on discount.

The scent is too heavy and there are masculine notes which isn’t palatable for me.

Toners -Chanel -Lotion Purete Mattifying Toner

Back in my early skincare days, I had no idea what ingredients actually worked effectively. I bought this at Macy's when I was desperate for a solution to keep my oily skin at bay.

The issue with this toner is that it will dry out your skin from all the alcohol. This will initially work great because it seems at first like it's controlling the oil. However, over time you will realize this toner turns you into more of a greaseball because your skin will try to balance all the harsh ingredients by producing more oil. I kept breaking out and couldn't figure out why. Turns out my skin was overproducing oil because I had been drying it out so much with harsh alcohols.

I finally threw this in the trash. It's annoying wasting money, but your face is irreplaceable. I'd rather lose money than continue to damage my skin with the harsh ingredients in this toner.

Lipstick -Chanel -Rouge Coco Stylo

So my mom bought me a Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo lipstick shade 216 Lettre back in SG. When I saw it for the first time, well packaging wise It's good. So then I tried it on my lips and I completely fell in love with the color. But the problem is, you can easily wipe off this lipstick away... If you're more into matte lipstick, well I think this product is not what you're looking for. And I'm not gonna buy this lipstick ever again because It's expensive.
