This is one of my “comfort products”, something that I love the feel and smell of, an old standard I’ll swipe over a stain or over nothing when I’m working at home. I love the minty feel and taste. So, so worth it! A real mood-booster.

I don’t plan to repurchase this, even though it isn’t a bad product per se. Once applied to my lips, the texture of the balm becomes too thin to be occlusive, but the ingredients just aren’t moisturizing enough for a non-occlusive lip balm to be very effective. It just doesn’t do anything for the health of my lips - they don’t become any smoother, softer, or less dry when I use this balm, even as an overnight treatment (in a thick layer). I do like that this balm brings out the pinkness of my lips, without looking too glossy or “lipstick-y”, and I also kind of like the smell. For the price, you do get a ton of product. However, the tin is TERRIBLE...over time, it becomes almost impossible to open without some kind of tool. For the price point, I greatly prefer Smith’s Rosebud Salve in a squeeze tube, which isn’t any more effective as a lip balm, but IS more hygienic and easier to use than the tin. If you just need a super effective lip treatment to fix your dry, chapped lips (or even prevent drying/chapping), plain old Aquaphor, CeraVe ointment, and Vaseline all work better than this balm. The key is to get your lips slightly wet with clean water before applying an occlusive, such as Vaseline or Aquaphor - they don’t work as well if there’s no moisture to seal in! If you really like rose-scented balms, both this (C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve) and Smith’s Rosebud Salve are about 100x better than the $30 Creme de Rose balm by Dior (which has been discontinued, but is still available in a few online shops). I wouldn’t pay big bucks for this balm, but for the $5.50 I paid for it, I’m not mad at it, either.

Although I've always loved face and body moisturizers i've tended to ignore my lips until now, which is kinda silly since they were not surprisingly always dry and chapped. This stuff is amazing--my lips are suddenly so much plumper it almost looks like I've had had them plumped via an injection. Why was I ignoring lip balm for so many years??? I use it every night, and during the day when I remember. The price isn't terrible, other than the fact that I want 15 of them, and I like the slanty tip. The texture is a bit goopy, but not any worse than other lip balms i've tried.

Unfortunately, C.O. Bigelow doesn't carry this line anymore. What a shame! This is MOST definitely my favorite lip gloss of all time. Good thing I'm still able to find it on ebay. This review is for both the Raspberry Jam, Ripe Blackberry and Blueberry Preserves. I LOVE these lipglosses so much!! First off, one tube lasts me a few years even with daily use. With that being said, this stuff is cheap if you are like me and don't use a ton with every application. The scent is delicious and subtle. This lipgloss makes my lips full, plump and moisturized WITHOUT being sticky or leaving behind the dreaded white line. In fact, I find that it stays on for a long time and my hair doesn't get stuck to it nor does it dry into stickiness. Also, the ingredient list is, for the most part, satisfactory. I love these glosses so much that even though I currently have 2 Ripe Blackberry and 1 Blueberry Preserves; I am still "watching" the "Strawberries and Cream" and "Golden Peach" flavors in the same line, on ebay. Will be so sad when I can't find these anymore. If you happen to run across this line anywhere, snatch them up. They are well worth it!!!

I'm a big fan of the rose salve, and like lavender. But this stuff burns my lips and doesn't smell all that pleasant. Plus it's $2 more per tin than the rose. I'm using it out on hands and cuticles, then it's back to the rose salve forever. This should be called lavender salve, as it has no rose in it.
