Bond No.9 has always been a hit or miss on my skin. This one is a success I think as I get a lot of compliments from friends whenever I wear it. Unfortunately, I don't find it exciting enough to warrant a full bottle and 'yummy' - though nice- is not how I wish to be remembered for the rest of my life, especially at this price range. So New York is politely yummy on my skin. It is more mellow, calmer and rounded than my other yummy scents but also less cozy. I get all the well-known Angel elements from it and even that A*men Pure Coffee structure. However, while A*men was a 100 in its strength, So New York is a 5. Although known as a coffee scent - as it is what it is- I feel I find its opening more interesting. The mirabelle plums here are not jammy or sticky. They are light, sweet but airy - with a clean patch supporting the lightness I think. Just the right amount on my skin, or it would be a mess. My favorite bit about so New York is the powder smell I get from it. It doesn't suffocate the coffee but it is very clearly there and it is a clean powder which I think adds a bit of interest to the story. Altogether, a pleasant fragrance but I don't miss it badly when I don't wear it for a while. 3.5

Not peaceful on me. Starts as harsh citrus and sharp wood with herbal cedar and something that smells like BO, then goes sharply Gaiac Wood alcohol and I had to scrub. Nasty, harsh, unsettling.

Notes from Fragrantica:lime, basil, lily, bergamot, thyme, mandarin orange, violet, woody notes, indonesian patchouli leaf, oakmoss and vetiver.Once again, another blind buy that I just never ever wore. I gave out a few decants of this one, but never actually tried it myself. I am such an idiot. This is lovely. It opens nice and citrusy and crisply minty---the first 5 minutes are HEAVEN. Then the rollercoaster starts. My entire 18 minute drive to work was a combination of "Ooh pretty citrus" and "omg cat pee cat pee make it stop" ---but shortly thereafter it warmed up into an earthy grassy delight where it stayed for several hours. It reminds me of old school Gap Grass with more depth, similar to Anisia Bella in the feel of it. Truly lovely.

I saw this stuff on ebay for an insanely discounted price and I could not resist. The packaging is sumptuous, with a heavy glass jar and shiny, weighty gold lid. (Bond charges $115 for it, so it had better look nice.) The "silk" appears thick and creamy in the jar. I was expecting a rich body cream that had moisturizing properties. If I had read the ingredients before I tried it, I would have known better. There is a ridiculous amount of dimethicone in this. It's the second ingredient. It feels like silicone primer. When applied, it glides on the skin and has slight smoothing properties but mainly it seems to be a vehicle for applying the scent, which is based on Bond's Queens perfume. It does not moisturize the skin at all. For the scent, I own Queens EDP, and this is more like a cousin to it than a sibling. The base notes predominate. I smell sandalwood, benzoin, and amber with a hint of bergamot and white flowers, which come together in a very pleasant effect to my nose. Conspicuously absent is any cardamom, however, which is a signature part of the EDP. Overall, I'm disappointed in it and would not buy a Bond Body Silk again. I just don't see much use for something that looks like lotion but feels more like silicone perfume.

One of my favorite Bond fragrances. Smells delicious and last all day. Bought three times already and cannot find anything else I would like more than this perfume
