I have tried many many waterproof mascaras from very high priced to very low priced. I had never found 1 that didn't smudge at some point after applying. Most would smudge just like regular mascara within an hour and then be really hard to remove at the end of the day. Blinc Amplified Mascara goes on easily and stays put until I wash it off. Oh, and the best part is that with just warm water it comes off like a dream - no waterproof makeup remover, makeup remover, soap required - it's a miracle. Very happy 54 year old customer.

I only ever use waterproof mascaras, and I always prefer dark brown to black (which I realise is a bit niche) but I was very excited to find this: another highly-praised and guaranteed wonder product being sold by Beauty and the Boutique. Most of the other (waterproof, brown) mascaras I've used have been by inexpensive high-street brands, and (sadly) they all performed better than this one. (The best was, oddly, by Nivea ('Extreme Resist' 24 hour waterproof) so of course they have since discontinued it.)This one went on quite nicely. The brush head is a bit big, and the filaments are more densely packed than other mascara wands I've used, but it does quite a good job of applying the product without clumping on the lashes. It felt messy though, more ended up on my upper lid, and flicked onto my cheek, than usual. So maybe do your eyes with this before foundation etc. When it was on it was waterproof, and also smudge-proof in that it didn't smear or melt or go oily. But it shed little flaky bits of 'tubes' constantly, which then get stuck to the skin under and around your eye and looks ghastly. Also, excessive packaging. It's in a cool metal tube, but that's just it's case, the mascara tube is inside that again. A tube within a tube why?And a slightly tangential gripe, because it's not about a thing they claimed they could do, but it is a thing many mascaras just do naturally (without mentioning it): lengthening. They make a big fuss of the fact their product makes 'tubes' on your lashes, but many waterproof mascaras do that, which means they usually have the pleasing side-effect of lengthening your lashes if you use a couple of coats. But this is the first mascara, of any kind, I've ever used that didn't do that - though none of the others were 'lengthening' mascaras specifically. Short version: it was the most expensive mascara I ever bought, and one of the poorest performers.

This is heavily touted as an almost magical product: a smudge-proof, waterproof, eyeliner pencil; yet soft enough to be rich and creamy, and not drag or scratch your eyelids. The last part is true, it is very soft and rich and gives good pigment (I got the dark brown one, and the colour is lovely). But. It's only smudge-proof for the first two or three hours of wear. Every hour after that makes it increasingly prone to rubbing off, or melting and migrating around on the skin, or just fading like a much cheaper eyeliner. And my skin type is dry, so for women with oily skin this could be very disappointing.I bought this from 'Beauty and the Boutique' where the owner promised it would last 24 hours. :/ I'd have been delighted with 8. But 4 hours is about the best it could do before looking faint and smudgey, and that's if I didn't touch my eyes.Edited to add - if you put it in the base of your eyelashes, it will however stay there for ages. Even after you've washed your face. But any part that's exposed, without the support of eyelashes next to it (like a winged tip) won't last nearly as long as it should. It's also very hard to get a crisp line; and it's fiddly to sharpen (because it's so soft), and also very wasteful, because every time you do sharpen it (and it needs sharpening before Every single use) you're throwing two thirds of the product in the bin. And it was really expensive! I paid 22 euros for mine. I just should have known better than to believe a pencil could deliver all the claims made by its sellers. Although it is a better eyeliner pencil than most, it's still just an eyeliner pencil: smudgey, imprecise, wasteful, and although I think it is waterproof, it definitely isn't smudge-proof after just a few hours. I'll stick to liquid liners from now on.

I read through a few of the negative reviews but no one mentioned the issue I had with this mascara. First off, the brush was your classic shape, it applied thinly but wet. It didn’t fan out my lashes, just slightly curled it. The results were decent but nothing impressive. My real problem with it came when I had to wash it off. I did exactly what it stated in the directions. I applied warm water and GENTLY massaged off. Then I saw a few of my lashes fall out within the small specks of mascara that came off. I lost a total of 6 eyelashes during one removal. I don’t know if I did anything wrong but all I know is that I won’t be using this again.
