Cleansers -Avalon Organics -Brilliant Balance Cleansing Gel with Lavender

on 4/29/2018 2:09:00 PM

I won't lie, a major reason why I purchased this cleanser was the phenomenal scent; if you care about the smell of lavender at all you'll be hooked. Furthermore it doesn't contain harsh foaming agents, additional perfume or coloring ingredients. The addition of natural extracts and prebiotics along with the friendly pricetag don't hurt either.

I've been using it in the morning and as a second cleanser after removing makeup at night. Leaves my skin fresh and clear, also works as aromatherapy too. I can't say that I find it drying but I follow immediately with rosewater mist, booster, serum and moisturizer.

Now the only point that frustrates me sometimes is that you REALLY need to rinse off very thoroughly and use a tiny amount of gel as it tends to cling on the skin. I have to splash about 20 or more times more than an average cleanser or it will start foaming when I apply the booster (I use Mineral 89 by Vichy) and then I have to start rinsing all over again.

Apart from that it's love.

Awesome product! I love to use this before bed because the scent relaxes me and puts me in a calm mood by the time I hit the sheets. A lovely fresh lavender scent that doesn't smell generic, at all. It's also very moisturizing and soothing on the skin. All natural ingredients, too. I love the pump bottle, no mess! If you are a fan of lavender scented lotions, then this is definitely the product for you.

Cleansers -Avalon Organics -Wrinkle Therapy with CoQ10 & Rosehip Cleansing Milk

on 4/5/2018 3:26:00 PM

First off, I'm a geek for natural products, though they're not essential to me, but I admit I will gravitate toward those first. I also like unscented items, or at least those without added fragrance, especially manmade fragrance. This ticks both those boxes for me.

But the big question is how does it work? Well, I can't attest whether the rosehip and the CoEnzyme Q10 help add glow or youth. I didn't really buy it for that. I simply wanted a gentle cleanser, and hopefully one that works. On that note, it's fantastic.

This does a pretty good job taking off makeup. Per the instructions, I wet my hands and my face, put a pump (that is enough to generously coat my face with cleanser) of this into my hands, and gently rubbed it all over, putting a bit of extra attention in the eye area to loosen mascara. A few splashes of water later, and my skin felt clean. I tried some toner afterwards to see if any stray pigment came off. Now, when I don't use primer, my skin gets clean -- not a speck of makeup left behind -- but if I use primer, it takes a bit more work to remove the makeup. I'll either go over everything with a gentle toner and splash water on my face, or do a slight do-over. As a result, if I'm feeling lazy, I'll use a different cleanser on heavier makeup days, but use this when there's less to take off. Plus, m skin just felt clean, soft, and not stripped of moisture. It also didn't feel coated with residue after using this, so it'll be a nice pampering cleanser.

I seriously doubt I'm going to use this for a month and find I look younger or glowier, but if it happens, I'll take it. I'm most happy to have found a gentle, creamy (it does feel more like a cream than a milk) cleanser that works without drenching me with fragrance and leaving me feeling coated.

The ingredients list is as follows. (And the inner natural ingredient geek likes a lot of what's in here -- though someone else may find issue with the cetyl acohol, etc. But that it's not a perfume bomb -- it does have a kind of wild rose scent to it, not super floral, but it does smell like real roses, so buyer beware -- and takes off my face paint makes me very happy.)

Shampoo -Avalon Organics -Rosemary Shampoo

I really like this shampoo! I actually originally bought it because I needed an organic shampoo to clean makeup brushes and the like, but since I have very thin hair that falls flat easily I decided to give it a try after reading its volumizing claims. I paid about $8 which is super cheap for the size of the bottle, in my opinion. The first thing I noticed about it was the smell. It has a strong, natural rosemary scent which I absolutely love. It doesn't lather very well, but you probably only have to use it on your roots since it cleans hair thoroughly. As soon as I dried my hair off I noticed it felt super clean without being stripped or dry, almost like a "reset" for built-up oil and product. As my hair dried, it grew in volume to a point I was very impressed by, especially for airdrying! Being someone whose hair doesn't get a lot of volume or texture even with products, this shampoo is lovely! I gave it 4 lipsticks only because I don't think it's a miracle worker, but it's a great shampoo.

I definitely recommend this to people who struggle with greasy roots/oily hair and especially thin or flat looking hair. Will absolutely buy again!

A wonderful, antioxidant toner which is alcohol-free. I apply this every evening when I was my face and a cotton round. It has a pleasant smell, overall a great product! Leaves skin smooth and soft, also corrects pigmentation and sun spots.
