Lotions/ Creams -Archipelago Botanicals -Coconut Hand Creme

on 8/22/2018 9:36:00 AM

Received a 1/4 oz sample of this- enough to use several times to decide "it's not for me". Not because the quality wasnt there, but the scent was not my favorite. On first application, it seems inoffensive, kind of like a pina colada without the pina, so it's kind of unisex- neither "feminine" nor "masculine"- and by that I mean (for myself) not girly, like a floral. but ultimately, I just dont find the fragrance appealing, and the scent just got annoying.
That said, I liked the cream well enough- it settles into the skin pretty quickly, and left my skin supple and feeling good. so the answer? get it in another flavor.

Candles -Archipelago Botanicals -Winter Frost

This candle smells exactly like Christmas! The scent is reminiscent of live Christmas trees, garlands, holly, spices, and snow, all wrapped up in one delightful candle. I've always loved Archipelago candles, but this one is far and away my favorite. The throw when it's burning is quite impressive, as is the burning time! My votive in this scent came in packaging that claimed 18 hours of burn time! I was quite surprised when I saw it on the box because most votive candles I've purchased from competing companies last a mere fraction of that. Yes, candles from this company are somewhat pricey, but I find them to be well worth the extra money because you're truly getting a quality product.

Lotions/ Creams -Archipelago Botanicals -Milk Oat Lotion #12

on 2/4/2015 9:04:00 PM

I did not like this lotion at all. First the smell was bad. If I used this on my hands it wasn't too horrible. But if I put this on my whole body (which is what I intended to use it for) the smell was overwhelming. I smelled like milk or sour cream. It was just very strange. Besides the smell, this was a thick lotion that never really dried. I had to wait at least an hour just to get my clothes on. No, I would never buy this again!

Lotions/ Creams -Archipelago Botanicals -Morning Mint Hydrating Lotion

on 3/28/2014 3:08:00 PM

I have had this for a long time and just forgot to review it. To my surprise, the company is still making it. I love the smell of mint, and I try to put on body lotion after every shower, so this seemed to be a no-brainer. I was surprised that it came in an aluminum bottle--like hairspray. So even though I never actually liked it, the bottle is heavy and thus it would have been expensive to return so I just kept it. First, it doesn't smell AT ALL like mint. It smells strongly of limes and is reminiscent of a man's aftershave. The smell lingers but fortunately isn't overpowering. And though the texture is pleasant--not sticky or greasy, it also isn't particularly effective. Within a couple of hours, my skin is dry again.

Body Scrubs -Archipelago Botanicals -Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

on 3/27/2014 7:30:00 PM

I am so disappointed. For years, I bought this pink pomegranate sugar scrub made by Archipelago Inc. It came in a 19 ounce jar. A couple weeks ago, I went to Ulta to buy a jar and did not see it on the shelf. So I went on line and thought I found it there. I did see the packaging was different. It came in a 8 ounce jar and the design was different. I thought it was the same product packaged differently as the name is Sugar Scrub Pomegranate. The company is Archipelago Botanicals. This new stuff is really sugary and white. It doesn't feel at all like the old scrub. It's really sticky and gooey. Maybe this is a different company - although both labels list Los Angeles as the address. Anyhow, I hate it.
