Styling Products -AVEDA -Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade

I bought this product at my hairdressers suggestion when I was at the salon for a hair cut. Its cost me $25 for a tub and a little goes along way....in fact I have to be careful not to use slightly too much or my hair will look greasy. I have thin hair but lots of it. The positives about this product is that it smells great and you get a huge tub that will last years. Also, Iike that it makes my hair feel really smooth and soft. I think I still might return it because it is difficult to get it competelly washed out of my hair when I shampoo. I have to use a clarifying shampoo to get it all out, which is something that annoys me. I live in California, which usually doesn't get humid here. So there is not a reason for me to use it for anti-humidity purposes but if you lived in a humid climate I would understand why you need this.

Hair -AVEDA -Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair

I use leave-in conditioner solely because I am super-lazy about my hair, but I also want it to look nice. Enter Damage Remedy -- this product saves me time in the shower AND keeps my super-short hair looking and feeling great. It's just so easy to slap it into wet hair and then blow-dry. It smells really nice too, herbal but not in a hippie way. I was using a cheaper Garnier leave-in before I started going to an Aveda salon, but the Garnier product was discontinued so I got this at my stylist's rec. I love it, and with my super-short hair I only go through about a tube per year using a little dollop 3 times per week. The squeezy-tube packaging makes it easy to decant into a smaller container for travel too. Definite repurchase!

Styling Products -AVEDA -Control Paste

I am super-lazy when it comes to my short hair, but I do take time to put this product in it. After showering at night, I blow-dry my hair and then sleep on it, and in the morning, when it's fluffy and crazy, I use about a pinky-nail's worth of this paste to tame it. I like that it's sticky but not goopy, smells really nice (herbal but not too hippie), and lasts FORever even with 3x/week use. In 4 years of use I'm only on my second tub -- definite repurchase!

Hair -AVEDA -Salon Hair coloring

on 3/19/2019 2:41:00 PM

I disagree with the person who suggested that all negative Aveda reviews were written by the same reviewer. I am my own person - loved my local Aveda salon and stuck with it for 3 years before finally conceding that the color had destroyed my hair. I stuck with it, I really did! First my scalp would itch like CRAZY and I'd get sores; I thought I was getting acne or something until I read other, similar reviews). Next, my hair started falling out. Not clumps, just a LOT of hair each time I'd wash or brush my hair. I stubbornly blamed it on pre-menopause. Finally, it just became SO dry, like straw.

I eventually had to admit the Aveda color was just bad for my hair. I know it's not the case with everyone but that was my true experience.

Treatments (Eye) -AVEDA -Botanical Kinetics Energizing Eye Creme

foto

This is an excellent eye cream. It's moisturizes well and sits beautifully under makeup. It is also unfragranced, which I appreciate in an eye cream. I don't know about its dark circle reducing or depuffing properties, but it definitely felt cooling and a bit energizing (thanks to the caffeine?). The packaging is also great--a hygienic (and attractive) tube that dispenses just the right amount.

With all of that said, it's a bit pricey at $36 for half a fluid ounce. For the money, I prefer the Cerave eye cream, but I would repurchase this as a special treat. In fairness, the tube did last me a long time.
