I was so excited to get this. I have fine, curly hair and have been looking for a product to replace my Aveda products for convenience. This just made my hair heavy and did nothing for my curls. HOWEVER -- I gave it to my niece who has think curls and her hair looked AMAZING. So, I guess it's just not for fine curls?

This is ok as a rich conditioner but I feel like I need to use more than I really should though. But the reason I don't like it is the weird smell. I'm not usually sensitive to hair product smells but something about the smell of this puts me off every time I use it. It wouldn't bother me so much if it dissipated once rinsed out but it lingers for hours later, causing me to hate it.

First, the few positives: I like the shade of purple as it runs more violettey than some others. The scent is quite nice. But that's about it, to be frank. This shampoo is much too harsh for my hair, as in it overdries it like woah. When I'm rinsing it out, I get all these small knots and snarls mid-shaft and ends, which are only remedied if 1) I have time to kill (which is hardly ever), 2) I load on 3x more conditioner than I normally would and 3) stand under the stream of shower slowly coaxing each tiny tangled knot out, heaping on more condish in the process. Ridiculous. And it's not because my hair is damaged or anything - i get regular trims and don't use bleach or anything in my hair. This may not happen for someone with super thick, coarse, stick straight hair, but since I my fine, thin but VERY dense (lots of strands) hair which is both straight and wavey, this is a nightmare.I also hate that this isn't surface free, which will strip out color and toner in a very short time. Thus, it would appear to increase brassiness once the purple 'poo is rinsed out - if that makes sense. You can absolutely do better than this glorified overpriced shimmer lights.

This was highly recommended to me so I thought I would give it a try. It has a candy-like cherry scent and sprays evenly. It adds great shine and softness. It also has good ingredients that my hair loves. It is not heavy and keeps frizzy areas controlled.

Gather round my fellow thick, curl haired crew. You all know who you are ... my tribe that could go weeks without washing your hair, that struggles with frizz, that have an arsenal of hair products that you mix like a master bartender depending on weather, how you slept, your last wash, etc. Now, I am only giving this a four, cause you need do to cocktail it with another Product (AG Hair Cosmetics Fast Food Leave In). But when you do, magic happens! Think of it as tonic water ... who really drinks it without the gin too? On 2nd, 3rd or 4th day Hair, this dynamic duo works wonders to refresh curls. Hair is smoothed, curls defined, and it looks very fresh (yes, even on day 4!). The key is NOT to use it as directed. Place a dime size of the leave in conditioner in your palm, then 2-3 sprays of this Product into the leave in and mix. Then run your hands over your hair to smooth. Shape any curls that gotten flattened during sleep, smooth any flyaways, and then you are done! AG would have a 5 star winner on their hands if they just mixed the two. The leave in smooths and provides softness, while the spray provides some flexible hold and fights frizz. But till then, mix your own cocktail and enjoy the results!!!
